Nest Site Restoration

Restoration projects take place between nesting seasons, September-March, on the third Saturdays of the month at one of Bolsa Chica's major Nest Sites depending on California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW) needs. Nest site habitat restoration involves removal of invasive and overgrown plants in areas of the Reserve that are off limits to the public. Please plan to attend the entire time; early departures will not be allowed, and late arrivals will not be accommodated. All cleanup supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your favorite gardening tools or work gloves. 

Carpooling is always encouraged. Upon arrival, we will be carpooling to the nest site because the number of cars allowed in the Reserve is limited. You must be at least 18 years old to drive in the Reserve. If you are concerned or have questions, please reach out. Meeting location and other details for the day will be emailed to you after signing the waiver, up to a week in advance. 

Groups of 5-15 participants are welcome. If you are signing up as a group leader, please ensure that every member of your group registers individually, no later than one week before the activity. Every participant must register, whether or not in a group.
